Bill
and Catherine have loved Jill Greenberg’s
work since they first saw her Monkey
Portraits in 2004. ‘Undecided’ is
their favorite of this series, and they
have coveted it since then – for
its portrait-sitter, for how it throws
and absorbs light, and for how it captures
the human in the animal without being
sentimental. It was early in their relationship
when they first saw this photograph,
so it also reminds them of falling in
love – with art and with each other.
